SCHOLARSHIP to Study Abroad

The Foundation will support Silver or Gold Award Girl Scouts who plan to study abroad, irrespective of major/minor.

It is not necessary to be a Scholarship to Study a Foreign Language recipient to apply for this one time Study Abroad scholarship; nor are Scholarship to Study a Foreign Language recipients excluded from applying. The Scholarship to Study Abroad IS NOT renewable. Applications may be submitted for studying abroad during first semester, second semester, summer, or the full academic year.

Scholarship to Study Abroad Guidelines

1. Applicant must be a Silver or Gold Award recipient.

2. Applicant is currently attending an accredited four year college or university as a full-time student.

3. Applicant must have attained at least a cumulative “B” average.

4. The Scholarship to Study Abroad will provide $1,000 to assist awardees in studying abroad.

Scholarship to Study Abroad Application Process

1. Complete the appropriate application (1^st semester, 2^nd semester, Summer, or Full Year).

2. Attach a letter from the local GSUSA council providing verification of the applicant’s Silver or Gold Award status.

3. Submit a letter of recommendation from a Girl Scout volunteer or staff member who is not a relative.

4. Provide a transcript showing the applicant is a full-time student, in good standing, progressing toward a degree, and maintaining at least a “B” average.

5. Provide proof that they have been accepted to study in an accredited “study abroad” program.

Scholarship to Study Abroad Deadline

Applications and ALL supporting materials must be received NO LATER THAN 5:00 pm CST on the specified date below:
