RENEWAL - Academic Scholarship to Study a Foreign Language

The Foundation awards scholarships to undergraduate women who have attained at least the honor of Silver Award Girl Scout, and who plan to or are currently pursuing a major/minor in foreign language at a four year college/university.  The scholarship provides $1,500 per academic year.  The scholarship may be renewed three times following the initial award, for a total $6,000 maximum award. Scholarship renewal is not automatic, however.  Awardees must maintain a “B” or better grade point average overall and in a foreign language (3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or 4.0 on a 5.0 scale), and submit the renewal application and all required attachments each year. (NOTE: Awards are for undergraduate study ONLY)

Guidelines

Place application materials IN the ORDER below.

Application and all support materials should be shipped in ONE package.

1.  Complete the RENEWAL application.

2.  Write an Essay (see questions and guidelines on application form).

3.  Send proof (current transcript) that the overall grade point AND the grade point in a foreign language is at least a “B” (3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or 4.0 on a 5.0 scale).

7.  Provide proof that the major/minor is a foreign language.  (If transcript indicates major/minor no other proof is necessary).
